Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta, hosted by Middle Harbour Yacht Club is now Sydney's largest, most successful Regatta since the 2000 Olympics.
Australia's celebration of sail, this Iconic Sydney event, attracts the highly competitive, glamorous racing yachts frequently seen gracing the harbour and the most popular international keelboat classes. The "sailing regatta for all sailors" the harbour is also decorated with non-spinnaker racers and the Classic Yachts class. It is forms part of the prestigious Audi Australian IRC Championship.
By far the richest prize in Australian sailing, the overall winner is awarded a brand new Audi vehicle.
Scheduled on the lead weekend of Sydney Harbour Week, this Sailing Spectacular provides a stunning tapestry of colour and constant action for spectators both on-water or from any of the harbour foreshore vantage points. Racing commences each day from 11am.
With the harbour a sea of sails, Middle Harbour Yacht Club is alive as the centre of shore-side activity and entertainment.
Mingle amongst the sailors each morning as they prepare for their day's competition, whilst enjoying a shore-side breakfast. Daily there's a fashion parade, remote control yachts, dinghy sailing, or dine alfresco overlooking the marina. Each evening the marina and shore-side beach is awash of sailors with many stories being shared. Live entertainment sets the party mood whilst the massive shore-side screen replays the day’s action. Saturday, in the later evening a stunning fireworks display lights up the harbour, making this a true Iconic Sydney Event.
Membership of Middle Harbour Yacht Club is available for those wishing to experience the shoreside entertainment.
