Commodore's Message
On behalf of the Middle Harbour Yacht Club and Audi Australia it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2008 Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta.
Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta is a world class yacht racing regatta, which has continued to grow since the Event was conceived some three years ago. From day 1 it has created excitement for competitors and spectators alike.
Through the cooperation of the various yacht clubs in Sydney Harbour and Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club from Pittwater, sailing programs have been structured to facilitate the participation of their members to compete over the weekend. Further we are supported on water by the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, Royal Prince Edward Yacht Club and the Sydney Amateur Sailing Club by their assistance in conducting racing on the multiple course areas in the harbour. This is a fine example of the cooperation fostered between the Clubs to share resources and expertise in facilitating competitive sailing in increasingly bigger events.
The Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta is held each year in conjunction with Sydney Harbour Week and will continue to be a high profile event for sailors. For competitors, their families, guests and spectators, the harbor foreshore provides excellent vantage points and shoreside, our club provides excellent entertainment over the entire duration of the weekend.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their ongoing support and contribution in making this a "must-do" event for all sailors.
